Look at that color! This Green Goddess Smoothie is great for post-workout recovery or the 3:00 slump. No need to choke down green smoothies that taste like raw dandelion greens. The Green Goddess isn’t too ‘green’ tasting but it’s also sweet enough to make your taste buds happy. And we all know what raw kale does for glowing skin.
Get some frozen peaches and throw them in the blender. Pour some unsweetened vanilla almond milk to cover the peaches. Add 2-3 stalks of fresh kale – I like the dark green flat leaf kind often called ‘Dinosaur Kale, but curly kale is fine, too. Take the rib out of the kale, especially if you don’t have a high-speed blender – regular blenders can’t pulverize all that tough fibrous stalk very well. I just peel the leaf from the stalk with my hand.
Add a small handful of blueberries and a scoop of your favorite protein powder. I like PerfectFit vanilla – it’s made from organic brown rice it’s also vegan, non-GMO, raw, and does not contain cane or beet sugar, gluten, dairy, lactose, soy, corn, any major allergens like so many other protein powders do.
No protein powder? Use a cup of nonfat unsweetened greek yogurt instead; but you may want to add a healthy sweetener of your choice. But blend it first, taste, and then adjust and add sweetener if it needs it – liquid stevia, pure maple syrup, or honey are all good. Blend it all up in your high-speed blender for 30 seconds. If it’s not circulating well in the blender add some more almond milk until it does. If it’s too liquid, add some more frozen peaches.
Get ready to glow like a goddess. Umbrella optional.
